I'm a Kiwi American - born of Kiwi parents in Hawaii, lived teenage years in New Zealand, then moved back to the US with my parents as a young adult. But, to the "mainland", instead of Hawaii...specifically the Pacific Northwest.

The ocean has always been my connection and compass. It's no coincidence that Whidbey Island - with its rich shoreline and soulful waters - called to my late-husband and me more than 30 years ago. These same waters touch Hawaii and New Zealand and form firm connections for me with my past and this amazing place. It's more than just where I live - it's my forever home. My children were raised here and the rich history of the island is embedded in their souls. It drew others of my family here as well over the years, and my husband and both parents now have their forever view in Sunnyside. I've remarried, to a wonderful Danish gentleman, who has also embraced Whidbey as his home.
